Port Lay as it was

Jean-Claude Le Corre, contributor oft the history of Port Lay dans Linogravures de Groix (www.linogravures.de) suggested to fait une view du Port from the sea to be used in a Schautafel . From various fotos ancienne several features of old Port Lay were incorporated. A main image se trouve au maison médicale de Groix:

Two features seen here are a mat dans le jardin de l’école de pêche et a small cabin.

The fit of thoniers in the small port is seen on this postcard

The frequent dumping of old thoniers is documented on these fotos seen on the FIFIG expo of les cartophiles de Groix 2010

To remind on the many years of sardine fishing preceding the 40 tuna years two sardiniers have been depicted, see here their shape in the  foto classic

Preceding the Kran set up in the 60s il y a deux viviers, seen in this foto from Dominiques Duviards collection:

Note that the chimney of l’usine has been torn down in recent years
The lino version of this reconstruction has a 42 x 60 cm size.

It has been mounted sur une mur during the FIFIG 2012 avec des notes  to explain the port’s history, but has been cleared with a Kärcher the following day.
