Il y avait là près du cimetière des bateaux, un vieux thonier qui attendait sa fin en s’envasant paisiblement et qui portait le nom de « Eugène POTTIER ». A cette époque là, on laissait les bateaux mourir de leur belle mort; le moment venu,on les remorquait vers un coin de rivière ou de plage et on laissait le temps faire son oeuvre. Je ne savais pas encore ce que nous lui devions à ce grand monsieur et entre-autres, les paroles de l‘Internationale.

The future is certainly not to be found on a small fishing boat…
